Plasma Skin Tightening
By now you've seen the dots... and have heard about Plasma Skin Tightening
but what is Fibroblast Plasma Skin Tightening?
It is one of the fastest growing treatments in the beauty/anti-aging industry in the world. Using sublimation, it's an advanced and non-invasive, soft surgery skin lifting, skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment which works in a number of procedures to dramatically enhance your looks.
What is Sublimation and how does it work?
Plasma sublimation is a revolutionary, highly versatile cosmetic procedure method that tightens skin but requires no cutting of the skin, and no injectable anaesthetics.
Yes, but HOW does it work...
Plasma is generated when the atmospheric gas between the instrument tip and the skin is ionised and a tiny, precise plasma 'arc' is created and comes into contact with the surface of the skin, causing a tiny micro-trauma, which in turn, causes the contraction on the epidermal layer of the skin and tightening and shortening of the skin fibres, which creates a retraction and reduction of the skin surface.
Because the arc is so small and precise, it doesn't harm any surrounding tissue.
The skin immediately contracts and tightens. Very cool right?
This encourages cells to generate new skin at the surface which is very effective in wrinkle smoothing and tightening therefore improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Secondly, it stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis, which are stimulated by wound healing or an inflammatoty response, which triggers the process of collagen production, this further reduces lines and wrinkles and gives the skin an inflated and plumper look.
The visible results are similar to those seen with surgery, but without the need for a single cut or stitch.
This treatment is a fantastic way to revive natural levels of the Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and Fibronectin needed for fresh, youthful skin.
Plasma Skin Tightening will give you youthful results with an up to 60 minute procedure. Once you heal, you will have visibly smooth skin and rid yourself of that excess skin and those stubborn wrinkles.
ENHANCE production of healthy, new radiant skin
REDUCE the look of fine lines, wrinkles
REPLENISH skin to its youthful look and feel
WHAT IS IT USED TO TREAT?
Plasma Skin Tightening is able to treat a number of imperfections without any actual cutting of the skin. A very versatile treatment which can be used for a number of areas, such as:
Reducing excess upper eyelid and under eye skin (blepharoplasty)
Crows Feet, Frown lines, Forehead lines
Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
Mini facelift, jowls and necklift
Tightening loose stomach skin after pregnancy or weight loss
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of plasma treatment are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further aging. But, the positive results should last you years depending on the area treated. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the best results will be seen after 4 weeks. For some, an additional treatment may be required after 8 weeks, for maximum results.
Areas such as crows feet and forehead lines and wrinkles are controlled by muscle movement so those areas may not have as lasting effects and some may choose to enhance these areas with botox or fillers.
Plasma Skin Tightening is an effective way to rewind the clock, but it wont stop it from moving forward.
Preventative care should be taken. This includes lifestyle factors such as:
Prolonged Sun Exposure
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Who it's suitable for?
Skin types 1 to 3 on the Fitzpatrick Skin Classification Scale - Check your type Here
Plasma Skin Tightening is not reccomended for darker skin types that may be prone to hyperpigmentation.
A test patch is required for a skin type 4 or higher.
Treatments cannot be performed if you have ANY of the following:
Prone to Keloid Scarring here
History of Hyperpigmentation
Fitzpatrick 5-6 (Prone to hyperpigmentation)
Eyelash Extensions (this is a risk for infection. client must remove eyelash extenstions before treatment, and NOT replace them until 8 weeks after and post treatment photos have been taken)
Before your treatment
A numbing cream containing 5% Lidocaine will be applied for approximately 40 mins to the area being treated, you may be laying down while you are being prepared for treatment. Every effort will be made to ensure your comfort. If you have any injuries or health problems that prevent this, please wait to book your appointment.
For treatments on the face. Please do not be wearing makeup the day of your treatment. If I have to remove your makeup an extra charge of $30 will apply.
Please remove eyelash extensions before your eye treatment, I can and will remove them the day of, but that will subject to an extra charge of $100. If you are wearing eyelash extensions and do not want them removed, treatment will be denied.
Ice the treatment area, (use a clean tea towel to cover the ice pack) alternating 10 mins on and 10 mins off for up to one hour for the first two days.
Keep the treated area clean using a mild unscented glycerine or dove soap.
Gently splash the area with cool, lukewarm water and lather the soap well in fingertips before applying to the skin. Use very gentle pressure to clean skin. FAN DRY with hands or a hair dryer COOL setting until tight and dry.
Gently apply aftercare prodcut (using clean hands) to the treated area as needed to releive pain or itching each day until your scabs fall off on their own.
It is ok to get the area wet, but not to keep it wet. Drying after cleaning is VERY important until all the crusts are gone.
IMPORTANT! You MUST allow scabs to fall off on their own. This will ensure the BEST possible healed result and avoid scarring and infection.
Be patient with the healing process and allow yourself time to rest and heal.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. Once the scabbing / peeling process is complete, always apply a broad spectrum sunblock to the treated area for up to a minimum of three months after your last treatment.
The skin is healing and can easily become damaged by the UV rays causing hyperpigmentation. ALWAYS wear sunblock or better yet, stay out of the sun.
After Care DONT'S
DO NOT PICK the scabs. Let them fall off on thier own or you will risk scarring and/or infection.
DO NOT apply makeup (even mineral) until the scabbing or peeling is complete (about 7-10 days)
DO NOT apply any plasters, liquid bandaid on the treated areas as doing so can delay the natural healing process.
DO NOT workout, swim, hot tub or steam bath. Avoid sweating and soaking scabs.
DO NOT apply any oil based products to the area UNTIL all crusts are gone. The micro injuries need to form a crust, this keeps out bacteria and allows new skin cells below the surface time to heal and regenerate. Oil based products will coat the crusts and keep them softened. This is NOT proper aftercare.
Once all crusts are gone, resume your normal eye care using creams or oils.
Infections are not common but can happen if aftercare is not followed correctly. Should you experience any sign of infection such as heat or pain followed by discharge, wash gently, ensure the area is FULLY dry (cool setting on hairdryer) and apply a little Polysporin. Shoud the area not show signs of improvement within 24 hours, the client should see a doctor.
Realistic expectations what you can expect: For your eyelid treatment Early days, it isn't pretty, so best not to book any special events! Ideally book your appointment when you can take a few days off and rest and heal.
